Tandberg Data's VXA Packet Technology is superior to track-based backup used by DDS and DLT. Tandberg Data VXA products are available in drives and autoloaders. Our most popular product in our 20-year history is our VXA PacketLoader 1X10 1U - offering drive tape backup automation for the cost of a single tape drive.

The Storage Loader VXA-172 sets a new standard for ease-of-use, reliability, capacity, and price for this class of automation product. The Storage Loader VXA-172 has 10 cartridge slots for a capacity of 1.72 TB of compressed data (172 GB per cartridge), all in a 1u form factor that conserves valuable rack space. The Storage Loader VXA-172 also offers a barcode reader standard, random library operation and optional remote management. Plus, it is the only 1u autoloader with a field-replaceable drive, allowing for easy upgrades to future generations of VXA drives without the cost of buying a whole new autoloader.

The PacketLoader offers a data transfer rate of up to 86 GB per hour and includes Tandberg Data's second-generation VXA-172 Packet Drive.
