Firmware Upgrade Methods
NOTE: This firmware version includes an enhancement referred to as "Worn Media Detection", which will attempt to preserve the integrity of a questionable tape when encountered by the drive. It is possible that this attempt could take up to 30 minutes. DO NOT POWER CYCLE THE DRIVE DURING THIS PROCESS. See Knowledge Base Article # 2062 for further details.
VXA drive firmware can be updated by using the VXATool software. VXATool is available in the VXA-2 Downloads area on this website. For VXATool installation and operation instructions, please see the associated readme file or on-line help for the tool.
