Figure 4.4 compares the IBM Ultrium 2 and IBM Ultrium 1 data rate in MB/sec at 11 different block sizes with 2:1 compressible data.  The results show that for block sizes equal to or greater than 32768 bytes, the IBM Ultrium 2 can meet or exceed the performance claim of 70 MB/sec 2:1 compressible data transfer rate.
