Figure 4.3 compares the IBM Ultrium 2 and IBM Ultrium 1 data rate in MB/sec at 11 different block sizes with non-compressible data.  The results show that for block sizes equal to or greater than 8192 bytes, the IBM Ultrium 2 can meet or exceed the performance claim of 35 MB/sec native data transfer rate.
